SIOBHAN MACDERMOTT – PARTNER
Siobhan is a global business leader with over 25 years of experience spanning banking, cybersecurity, intelligence, and technology across more than ten countries.
She has held leadership roles at Bank of America and the Consello Group, advised Fortune 500 boards, authored six books, and currently serves as a professor, board member, and fellow at multiple prominent institutions.
Siobhan is a partner at 8 Degrees East. Her career has spanned more than 25 years at the intersection of global business, banking, cybersecurity, intelligence, and technology, and she has worked in over 10 countries.
She was recently a partner at the Consello Group in New York. Prior to joining Consello, she was Vice Chairman at Bank of America as well as head of the Global Cyber Public Policy team, responsible for Bank of America’s participation in programs dedicated to improving risk and cyber resiliency of the global financial system.
She was the Co-President responsible for standing up the FS-ARC (Financial Systemic Analysis and Resiliency Center).
Prior to Bank of America, she led the Cyber Economics Practice at EY (Ernst & Young), and consulted to Fortune 500 boards on geopolitics, intelligence and cybersecurity.
Prior to EY, she spent over 20 years working overseas and in Silicon Valley. In addition, Siobhan is an accomplished author, with six books to her name.
Siobhan is an Advisory Board Member at Thunderbird and Temple University. She serves as Vice Chair of Fund for Peace, is an Associate Fellow at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy, is an Aspen Finance Leaders Fellow and is a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
She is a Professor of Practice at the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
Siobhan graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts in German Language and Literature. She holds a Master of Business Administration in Global Business from Thunderbird School of Global Management, a Global Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University and is pursuing her Doctor of Professional Practice in Global Strategy and Leadership at Thunderbird.
She speaks five languages and is an accomplished equestrian.
